Outcome Summary

The Challenge

PurpleDot needed a way to stand out at ShopTalk, a major retail and consumer brands conference, and create real conversations with prospective customers — not just booth traffic.

The Approach

We designed and produced an interactive glassblowing experience at PurpleDot's conference reception. Attendees got hands-on, made something they could take home, and spent meaningful time in an environment built for genuine conversation rather than a pitch.

The Results

From 16 attendees, the event generated 9 new sales opportunities spanning a diverse mix of retail and consumer brands — apparel, accessories, photography, and outdoor/lifestyle categories among them.

Estimated pipeline value: $299M+

Five accounts progressed to a booked or completed meeting within weeks of the event. One account moved directly into active deal engagement. Two existing customer relationships also advanced through renewal conversations sparked at the event.

The Number That Mattered Most

100% of attendees returned to the PurpleDot booth the next day to pick up the glass piece they'd made.

 

That return rate is the clearest signal of the experience itself: people don't go out of their way for something they don't care about. The conversations that followed were a natural extension of that engagement — not a separate ask.
